About us

A small journal for a slow, beautiful home.

We started The Nestiora in 2019 because most home and garden advice online was written by someone who'd clearly never done the thing they were writing about. So we wrote our own — slowly, in our actual homes, with our actual budgets.

A quiet, sunlit room
The mission

Make home life more beautiful — for every budget, every season.

We believe a beautiful home doesn't require a designer or a big budget. It requires intention, a little effort, and honest information — written by someone who's lived it.

01 · What we believe

Three small promises.

01

Clear disclosure

Affiliate links are disclosed in articles, and recommendations are edited for usefulness first.

02

Slow before fast

We would rather publish one practical, edited story than three thin list posts.

03

Real homes, real budgets

We design for the room you actually live in, not the one a stylist staged.

02 · The team

Six people. One quiet table.

Real homeowners, gardeners, parents, and a photographer who only shoots in afternoon light.

Editorial policy

How we write and update guides

Every guide starts with a real home problem, a clear reader outcome, and an editor check for usefulness, accuracy, and internal links to the right silo.

Affiliate policy

How monetization works

Some stories may contain affiliate links. If a reader buys through those links, The Nestiora may earn a commission at no extra cost to the reader.

How we test

What earns a recommendation

We prioritize ordinary budgets, accessible materials, long-term usefulness, and advice that still makes sense after the first pretty photo.

03 · Our story

Seven slow years.

  1. 2019

    A newsletter, in pajamas

Started as a Sunday-morning email between three friends sharing room photos.

  2. 2021

    The journal becomes a journal

We bought the domain and committed to writing only what we’d done ourselves.

  3. 2023

    Three corners, one home

Expanded gardening alongside decor and DIY, written by people who live each.

  4. 2026

    A slow redesign

Rebuilt from the ground up in Japandi quiet — the way our homes feel when no one’s watching.
